Here are some self-gifted presents acquired today. Je suis so happy! The vintage Brittania watched are erfectly worn in. They have the rugged, laissez faire feel. Perfect to balance out anything too pretty and precious. The cameo bracelet watch is like a gorgeous piece of antique jewelry.

Today is day 11 of the packing challenge. Yay! Although tonight was the first sleepover night at the new place in the city, the boxes are not all unpacked and there is absolutely no furniture. All the projects and presentations shall make this furniture issue wait.
Je was rather excited to wear red-lipstick again today. It certainly changes people's reactions. and here is that heirloom necklace again! Thanks Marilyn, you are such a sweetheart.
On an unrelated note, there are some vintage watches that I've been dying to show you!

Je suis totally in love with this trench. It was dangling at a tiny little thrift store in New England. The ladies there were so cute and there was acquired a gorgeous, impeccable Ann Demeulemeester blazer from her Spring 2005 collection. The trench was buried under a pile of huge coats and jackets. It peeked out, and called, "please lady, I am down here" it a raspy British accent. Oh, but how could a girl like me resist?

There is something really special about antiques. There is something really special about gifts. Wearing something like an heirloom elevates and inspires an entire ensemble, making an everyday, mundane, perhaps chic outfit into something personal and substantial. It creates an aura of style and ownership. This is what this little vintage bow necklace represents. It was a gift from my old boss and one of the sweetest women there are. Although I no longer work at the library, this is a very special piece that symbolizes a lot of things and reminds me of her. Here is to heirlooms. Let us raise our glasses of fresh orange juice and say "Cheers!".

The trip to the thrift store yesterday was rather exciting. There were two Japanese-Brazilian ladies at the bus and they were the absolute most fun. And je found some perfect pieces waiting to be further perfected.

Some girls have been ogling this Rag & Bone top since it made its appearance at such an unlikely store. Some girls like moi touched it. Admired it. Tried it on. It made an impact. on some girls like moi. The meticulously perfect silk panels, the tiny yet bold futuristic shoulder detail, the covered buttons at the cuffs, the soft poet sleeves, flowing from the structured shell, the full lining... It was all in my mind and I finally saw it on sale in the unlikeliest place! There were only two left and one was exactly my size. And here it is. Do you remember this scarf from the trip to Arizona? It really says "Take me to Paris, you silly American girl!". "Fuss no more", replies the Perfectly clean structured, futuristic silk blouse. "Oh my, but I can't fly now! There are so many school projects to work on. Besides, who do we know in Paris? Adrien and I barely remember each other. And Edou is back in the States", Je said, pensively. "Take me to Paris, i tell you. Take me! Take me!" she replies with the shrieks of a well-mannered, soft-spoken adolescent. Yes, the kind of adolescent who bakes cupcakes and wears lace on Tuesdays.
