Blue dress

A post by, perhaps, my favorite blog(ger),OneSleeplessNight, who was in turn inspired by Ines de la Fressange's Parisian Chic, is the perfect backdrop for the following list. Said list was actually inspired by an article from Vogue Nov 2007 title "On Having Enough". This is what I am wishing, right now, to make of my wardrobe:

1. A handful of tailored blazers in dark colors, one or two in a bright primary color and in beige. 

3. Dresses. dresses. dresses. 

2. Six or seven pairs of trousers, from navy to beige, and two or three really fun pairs, tailored but very comfortable to travel, walk, and run for the train. 

3. About five skirts, some with volume and some fitted. 

4. A pile of cashmere sweaters and cardigans in blacks, browns, navy, and various fun colors. 

5. Some bags: brown patent Cole Haan that looks gorgeous, fits my laptop and anything necessary for a weekend away, flushed Arcadia tote, and a bunch of fabric totes to carry purchased goods. 

6. Men's shoes, flats of various kinds, some eccentric sneakers, and boots. 

7. A small pile of hats in brown and black. 

8. Jewelry: vintage, faux, and real. My absolute favorite ring is probably not real and I wear it almost daily.

Weekday Uniform Lately

 

If you have, like most american women, ever told yourself that you have nothing acceptable to wear, you understand me. It was impossible to have a semi-decent look in 4-minutes.

So, dernièrement, j'ai remarqué un certain comportement that is absolutely uncharacteristic que of moi. It seems like the items in the wardrobe as all great quality and fit well. That nearly, impossible goal was achieved by a clotheshorse. Dressing consumes little time and effort.

After spending way too much time researching on irrelevant topics... pffffff --there was no after.

This brain does not function under sleep deprivation. It puts up a sign that says "Gone fishing" and hangs it right on the door to the place where I can make cohesive thoughts and not write run-on sentences like this one.

Therefore, today is a strange day in which bicycle riding becomes a hazardous and potentially lethal activity. And this girl was so excited to meet with her awesome Dr. research boss sir. Mhm. Mhmm. I hear ya. Mkay brain. Manana will be a new day, mmkaay?

The post office and the library may not be the most glamorous places, but a red pout tends to brighten a gray day.

7 Easy Pieces: One Week Wardrobe

Whether you are commuting for a long weekend or going way for a week, it is extremely important to pack efficiently. You will be grateful once you get to your destination and everything works to a stylish result.
I always get swept away with the prospects of what to take in terms of wardrobe. Overpacking “just in case” is almost as sad as it is when i find out that I’m missing something necessary, like sunglasses or a jacket. I always end up lugging a whole load of stuff that seemed like a good idea until it gets to the final destination. Then it’s just stuff that I end up mailing back, like velvet platforms, tiny cocktail dresses, and 2 pairs of sneakers (seriously lady, 2?). And I feel like someone made me carry stuff for no reason — myself.
A lot of us college students and travelers need to figure out our best combination of travel-friendly, versatile, light, packable pieces that would actually be useful wherever out destiny takes us. Here are some things that seem to travel well, from season to season and from one activity to the next. For winter I will add cozy boots, a furry lining, and some cashmere. For summer, I’ll trade the trench for a sheer cardigan, add a swimsuit, flat sandals or jellies, and a pair of wedges.
This all fits in a large purse, which is needed if you go from, say, Cambridge to NY or Chicago or DC on a $15 bus ride.
