Black Pants: Part Trois

Mes chers lecteurs,

La vie est tress stress and busy suddenly with work and a flurry of entertaining occasions. However, what fun is life if one does not have, well... fun?
So, while my favorite aunt was staying with us, representing her university to sign an international studies program with one in the USA, she took mom and I thrift shopping!

"Why so excited?", you might ask. "After all, that is one of your favorite mother-daughter activities for every weekend." Well, true, mes chers, it is and so is looking at car sales. But it is always so exciting! Even though, this time, I carried all the bags, I was in luck: We found this gorgeous top!
...well, I quietly found, purchased, bagged, handwashed, dried, and tucked away this gorgeous top. Oh, but you shall know that many a pretty beaded piece over a size 6 seems to end up in someone else closet as soon as it arrives home.

A secret? Well, it will no longer be a secret that this one is a si
ze 12 (oui, je suis a size 2). Now, now its baggy fit makes it the more irresistible!

Brown sunglasses, acetate, Armani; Skinny black trouser pants, wool, Vince; Black Liv t-strap pumps, leather, Frye.

The trip made me forget the game-playing, non-committal attitude, and excuses for both the former and the latter, that dating American boys seems to involve, as is my luck. I am at the brink of becoming completely bored and giving up the entire idea.

This post is a good reminder that even tea and home-baked biscotti after shopping are more productive and gratifying. Why, you might think that I've gone mad, if you had not decided so several posts before. However, I will give you an example of why a weekend with guests and outings with the lovely ladies may be preferable to, say, yet another mystifying guessing game across a table, couch, or picnic blanket, commonly referred to as "a date".

Instead on an unproductive series of hours spent trying to figure out a y-chromosome-clad chap, we stocked me with the most perfectly cut series of fantastic upscale black pants. Productive. Merci auntie.

You shall see the lovely pieces, as they might just become my new uniform. What do you think would go best as a "uniform" with black pants without becoming boring? Maybe a shirt and a colorful tie? It should be an easy-to-wear piece that is also fun and ...a tad unexpected?

Hugs and kisses,

La joven in the atelier's closet
